this new such

In this 3rd installment, Seldon defines his concept of ‘ideo-ontology’.
Seldon --
“We distinguish ‘physio-ontology’ --
“tangible”, sensuously-perceived kinds of things -- from ‘ideo-ontology’.”
“ ‘ideo-ontology’ refers to non-sensuous kinds
of things, to kinds of ‘idea-objects’ that have no immediate,
direct counterparts in our sensuous world.”
“Of
course, even physical objects are known only as mediated through
the human senses and brain/mind.”
“There
is also a ‘‘‘dialectical synthesis’’’ category of ‘ideo-physio-ontology’. A compelling example of such is a 1934 “Woodrow
Wilson” US$100,000 bill. Physically, it
is a thin slip of printed paper. But it
would command vast magnitudes of living human labor, and/or of products of past
human labor, such is the magnitude of economic value collectively projected
onto that thin slip of printed paper by human beings under contemporary
‘psychohistorical-material conditions’.”
“New
‘ideo-ontology’ -- especially new mathematical ‘ideo-ontology’
-- to qualify as such, must cohere internally and with other, already-extant
‘ideo-ontology’ of its Domain; must form part of, and ‘‘‘fit’’’ as part
of, a coherent ‘ideo-system’.”
“If
“candidate” new ‘ideo-ontology’ exhibits ‘dysherences’,
if it ‘dysheres’ -- e.g., if it harbors gaps, lacunae, propositional
contradictions, internally and/or with respect to already-extant ‘ideo-ontolog(y)(ies)’
of its Domain -- then it must be modified in order to qualify, and to be
“elected” as achieving, ‘ideo-ontological validity’.”
