‘Dialectical Synthesis as the “Best” from Its Generating Antithesis’. -- Part 07: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

Dialectical Synthesis as the Best from Its Generating Antithesis’.

-- Part 07: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

The seventh release in this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 7th installment, Seldon describes what “best” must mean in the context of the dialectical syntheses that [re]solve the oppositions between dialectical theses and/versus their dialectical anti-theses.

Seldon --

In that sub-Domain of the Dialectics Domain that we name ‘[ideo-]physio-HISTORICAL dialectics’, the traditional principle -- that a dialectical synthesis perpetuates only the “best” of its opposing ‘“dialectical anti-thesis”’ and ‘‘‘dialectical thesis’’’ -- whose interaction or ‘intra-action’ was the cause of the irruption of that dialectical synthesis, is not strictly true.”

“That “truism” is not true unless its key term, “best”, is strictly qualified, delimited, and defined.”

“In the case of the logical, semantic opposition of a thesis proposition versus an anti-thesis proposition, and of the, resulting, dialectical synthesis, proposition, if the thesis as well as the anti-thesis  are adequately descriptive of an [ideo-]physio-ontological reality, then the synthesis proposition will not represent/formulate/-express “the best of both” of the thesis and anti-thesis propositions, in terms of “just any old”, arbitrary, heteronomously subjective criterion, or criteria, of “best-ness”.”

“More relevantly, the ontological uni-category’, that combines, integrates, and unifies an ontological thesis category’ and its qualitatively different, opposing ontological contra-category, does not necessarily select, extract, and feature only the “best” determinations of its thesis category’ and its contra-category, in all, arbitrary, heteronomously subjective, meme-ic’ and ‘human phenomic’ senses.”

“The determinations of the «monads», units, elements, ‘‘‘holons’’’, or individuals making up the «arithmos» of that physio-ontological uni-category’ will tend to be those which “best” contribute to the maximization of the sustained collective rate of [self-]reproduction of those «monads» or individuals, i.e., with the -- ‘Meta-Darwinian’ -- meta-fitness of that «arithmos».”

“This expectation is in keeping with the F.E.D. Meta-Darwinian Theory of Universal [Meta-]Evolution, such as it emerges from our immanent critique of the ideological hyper-pollutions within the received form of the Darwinian scientific theory of biological-only – i.e., of non-universal – evolution.

 Useful Mind’.

-- Part 06: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. The sixth release in this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 6th installment, Seldon describes his view of the primary value of human genius.

Seldon --

In my view, a brilliant human mind would be of little value if employed solely to “show off”, to awe others, for the narcissistic self-gratification of its “owner” alone.”

“A brilliant mind is a blessing, even to its “owner”, only if – and even if only anonymously or pseudonymously, e.g., to avoid media manipulations – it is applied to produce benefits for other human beings, e.g., to what Marx called “universal labor”, including producing benefits for human beings not yet born; for human beings yet to come.

‘First Dialectic Algebra’: ‘Univocalization’ as Solution. -- Part 05: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

 First Dialectic Algebra:

Univocalizationas Solution.

-- Part 05: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

The fifth release in this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 5th installment, Seldon describes what we mean by ‘univocalization’ as the form of solution for the dialectical-algebraic unknown terms arising in our ‘First Arithmetic/Algebra for Dialectic’.

Seldon --

Our strictest criterion for the solution of a ‘category-symbol’ term -- generated in a dialectical-algebraic equation by the algorithmic categories-progression expansion from the single, initial «arché» ontological category of a given Domain -- is what we term univocalization.”

“The “raw” category-representing terms, generated by such algorithmic categorial series expansion from the single «arché» category, are typically ‘bi-vocal’ – or even more ‘multi-vocal’ than ‘bi’ – in the sense that they involve two or more subscript epithets, or categorial determinations, subscripted to their q generic arithmetical qualifier ‘meta-numeral’ component.”

“The comprehension of the qualitative meaning of such an initially ‘‘‘algebraic unknown’’’ ‘category-symbol’ -- the semantic comprehension or ‘semantification’ of that symbol -- is signified when the modeler is able to express the meaning of the joining together of those multiple subscripted epithets or determinations by a single word name -- or via a single phrase -- that aptly ‘character-izes’ that algebraic “character”-complex.”

“Such comprehension is signified by taking a single key letter – perhaps the initial letter – from that word or phrase, and replacing the two or more subscript, or ‘denominated’, epithets with that single-letter epithet in the subscript, or ‘‘‘denominator’’’ – in the ‘specifier component’ -- to that q generic arithmetical qualifier ‘meta-numeral’ component.”

“The capability for this ‘univocalization’ of the initially ‘multi-vocal’ should always be sought in the effort to solve such a categorial series dialectical-algebraic equation.  However, after that is achieved, there are cases, in our work, where then returning back to the ‘bi-vocal’ or even more ‘multi-vocal’ version of the ‘category-symbol’, that has already been solved for, can be highly instructive.”

“Consider the following examples…

‘Dialectical-Categorial [Self-]Negat-ivity’. -- Part 04: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

 Dialectical-Categorial [Self-]Negat-ivity.

-- Part 04: Seldon’s Secrets Series.

The fourth release in this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 4th installment, Seldon describes what we mean by ‘determinate negativity’ in the context of ‘Categorial Dialectic’.

Seldon --

… Each newly-emerged ontological category in a dialectical ‘categories-series’, or “categorial progression”, will have a not-ness’ – a gulf of determinate negativity – between it and every other ontological category already extant in that dialectical ‘categories-series’, that dialectical “categorial progression”.”

“That is, every such dialectical category will be qualitatively distinct/distinguished/-distinguishable from all other dialectical categories in that/its Domains series.”

“Therefore, also, the heterogeneous “sum”, or qualitative superpositioning’, of all such categories’ symbols -- or ‘ontological «arithmoi» meta-numerals -- will be non-amalgamative” [cf. Musés], or «asumbletoi», with one another, i.e., unaddable [cf. Platon, regarding his dialectical-idealist/eternalist «arithmoi eidetikoi» eide].
