It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

In this 4th installment, Seldon offers a key, inspiring and hopeful message of the dialectical method for those feeling “fatally” trapped in irreconcilable oppositions, dilemmas, radical dualisms, either/or absolutisms, fundamentalist diremptions, antinomies, paralogisms, paradoxes, ironies, and «aporia».

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seldon –

 

“The study of dialectics teaches that conflicts – and self-conflicts – may not be avoidable, but that they are, with time – with deepened perspective and insight -- resolvable.”

 

“Resolution may require considerations more complex and seemingly “exotic” than the part(y)(ies) to the given conflict/opposition may be able, at first, to envision – such as the way in which the curvaceous space-time of the Einsteinian/Riemannian cosmological-geometry resolves the Kantian antinomy of space – but resolvability/dialectical synthesis ultimately reveals its abundance.”
