-- Part 4: Quoting Seldon Series.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

This fourth release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 4th installment, Seldon delineates the dialectical interconnexion between the -- root-dialectical -- Aufheben process, and the Seldonian category/concept of Supplementary Opposition -- as opposed to each of, and to the mutual opposition of, the categories named Annihilatary Opposition and/versus Complementary Opposition.

Seldon –

“Aufheben Opposition is Supplementary Opposition.”

“It is so in the sense that the systematically later [systematic-dialectically later], or the historically later [historical-dialectically later] ontological category of a typical opposing pair of ontological categories, is an aufheben-ation negation’ resulting-category -- resulting, by an aufheben operation, from the former, earlier category.”

“That resulting, ‘supplementary opposite’ ontological category is also typically a category constituted of ‘meta1-monad-ic’ units, relative to the units of the earlier category – is typically wrought by a ‘[self-]meta-unit-ization’ of the earlier units constituting that earlier ontological category.”

The ‘‘supplementary’’’ category thus still contains [some of] those earlier units, as well as partially transforming [‘‘‘determinately-negating’’’], [the same "some of"] those earlier units, and also elevating [the same "some of"] those earlier units, into a new, higher ‘qualo-quantitative, qualo-fractal’ scale.
