The MEANING of ‘Subscript Duality’ in the Seldonian First Algebra for Dialectics. -- Part 6: Quoting Seldon Series.

The MEANING of ‘Subscript Duality’ in the Seldonian First Algebra for Dialectics.

-- Part 6: Quoting Seldon Series.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

This sixth release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 6th installment, Seldon discusses the meaning, and the perhaps unexpected meaningfulness, of repeated-subscript, ‘self-hybrid’ dialectical-algebraic category-symbols in the Encyclopedia Dialectica first algebra for dialectics.

Seldon –

“In our NQ arithmetic/algebra for dialectical modeling, the doubling, the repetition, the repeated-occurrence of a subscripted category-quality-connoting character – the duality of the connotational subscript of an NQ symbol representing an ontological category, for either a category-symbol of the ‘synchronic context’ [e.g., for systematic dialectics], or of the ‘diachronic context’ [e.g., for historical dialectics], signifies, systematically, the key element of dialectical ‘qualo-fractal’ elevation, and, historically, the key driver of dialectical progression: ‘the genesis of the antithesis ontos’, or of ‘the <<arithmos>> of contra-category <<monads>>’.”

“It signifies the ‘self-meta-<<monad>>-ization’ of [some of] those <<monads>> that constitute[d] the ontic <<arithmos>> -- the ontological category – which that subscript, in its ‘undoubled’, singular occurrence, connotes.”

“It signifies the ‘self-subsumption’ and ‘self-internalization’ -- the combined, ‘self-pro-motion’-cum-self-de-motion’ [Hegel] -- of that ontic <<arithmos>> and of the <<monads>> that the single subscript connotes.”

“For the ‘diachronic context’, it signifies the resulting “primitive accumulation”/“original accumulation” [Marx] of the <<monads>> of its successor ‘self-hybrid’ <<arithmos>>.”

“For the ‘synchronic context’, the double-subscript algebraic unknown-to-be-solved-for, signifies an already existing accumulation of the <<monads>> of a ‘self-hybrid category’ <<arithmos>>, that, if solvable, is present in the present that the systematic dialectic presents.”

‘Perfection’’. - Part 5: Quoting Seldon Series.

‘‘Perfection’’.

-- Part 5: Quoting Seldon Series.

This fifth release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 5th installment, Seldon discusses the concept, and the reality, of “perfection”.

Seldon –

“Nothing is “perfect”.”

“By that assertion, I mean that no existent that I have ever experienced has ever been “perfect”.”

“I also mean that only “nothing” is “perfect”.”

“That is, only “nothing”, as the absolutely and the forever always indeterminate, if it existed – a paradoxical notion in itself – would not be subject to ‘‘‘determinate negations’’’, and would also already ever be the intended product of all ‘‘‘abstract negations’’’.

“Such ‘‘‘abstract negations’’’, turning their operands into “nothings”, could not alter an already “nothing”.  Turning such a “nothing”, were it to exist, into a “nothing” would change nothing not at all.”

“But each determinate existent that I have encountered has been, in my experience, “double-edged”.”

“Each has had advantages and disadvantages, from my point of view, and from the points of view of others.”

“Each has had upsides and downsides -- these ‘‘‘sides’’’ together presenting an ‘intra-duality’, or ‘intra-multiality’, so intertwined as to better be called a ‘self-duality’, or a ‘self-multiality’.

“Such ‘‘‘sides’’’ are ineluctable, interlocked, ‘intergenerate’, and ‘interdeterminate’.”

‘Aufheben-ation’ and ‘Supplementary Opposition’. -- Part 4: Quoting Seldon Series.

‘Aufheben-ation’ and ‘Supplementary Opposition’.

-- Part 4: Quoting Seldon Series.

This fourth release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 4th installment, Seldon delineates the dialectical interconnexion between the -- root-dialectical -- Aufheben process, and the Seldonian category/concept of ‘Supplementary Opposition’ -- as opposed to each of, and to the mutual opposition of, the categories named ‘Annihilatary Opposition’ and/versus “Complementary Opposition”.

Seldon –

“Aufheben Opposition is Supplementary Opposition.”

“It is so in the sense that the systematically later [systematic-dialectically later], or the historically later [historical-dialectically later] ontological category of a typical opposing pair of ontological categories, is an ‘aufheben-ation negation’ resulting-category -- resulting, by an aufheben operation, from the former, earlier category.”

“That resulting, ‘supplementary opposite’ ontological category is also typically a category constituted of ‘meta1-monad-ic’ units, relative to the units of the earlier category – is typically wrought by a ‘[self-]meta-unit-ization’ of the earlier units constituting that earlier ontological category.”

The ‘‘‘supplementary’’’ category thus still contains [some of] those earlier units, as well as partially transforming [‘‘‘determinately-negating’’’], [the same "some of"] those earlier units, and also elevating [the same "some of"] those earlier units, into a new, higher ‘qualo-quantitative, qualo-fractal’ scale.”
