Part II. of II., "Evolute-ness" In Systematic-Dialectical Theory-Presentations.

Dear Readers,

Google's software chopped-off the latter part of the previous blog-entry, so here it is as a separate blog-entry --

Source:

[G. W. F. Hegel, Lectures on Logic, Clark Butler, translator, Introduction to the Lectures on Logic, More Exact Concept and Division of the Science of Logic, [I. Being], Indiana U. Press [Indianapolis: 2008], pp. 79-80 [bold, italic underline shadow, and color emphasis added, along with braces-bracketed commentary].

The human-cognitive essence of this categorial-progression presentational pedagogical strategy of Systematic Dialectics, that leads to its "evolute-ness", is, per our hypothesis, the following:

In any textual, book-like "present-ation", whether it is deliberately Systematic-Dialectical or not, a cognitive "cumulum"-effect of the book's content upon the reader is the hoped-for achievement of the author.

When the reader gets to reading chapter
2, having already read chapter 1, chapter 2 temporarily becomes the immediate, accented, immediately-present content of the whole book for the reader.

However, the content presented in chapter
1 should still be partially present in the mind of the reader, albeit in a somewhat faded, receded fashion, no longer immediate and accented, but still foundational for what the reader is now encountering in chapter 2.

Thus, the real, human-cognitive "[table of] contents" -- as a model of the human-cognitive contents of the book -- would be more aptly rendered, not as --

Preface

Chapter
1

Chapter
2

Chapter
3

Chapter
4
.
.
.

-- but, on the contrary, as --

Preface

Preface + Chapter
1

Preface + Chapter
1 + Chapter 2

Preface + Chapter
1 + Chapter 2 + Chapter 3

Preface + Chapter
1 + Chapter 2 + Chapter 3 + Chapter 4
.
.
.

-- to represent the intended cumulative, "cumulum"-effect, or cumulative cognitive consequences, of the content of the book's presentation for its [sequential] reader.

If, e.g., chapter
1 already implies, of "implicitly contains", content which is made "explicit", e.g., in chapter 2, then the reader will find in herself or himself, anticipation/expectation of the content of chapter 2 already with the end of her or his reading of chapter 1, and will find that the "after-impression" of chapter 1 will add to the "follows-from-ness" -- the plausibility, credibility, and intelligibility -- of the content of chapter 2 when he or she begins to read that content, and throughout that reading of the content of chapter 2.

The sensitized reader will already feel, while still reading the content of chapter
1, that the explicit content of chapter 2 is already implicitly "pre-sent", even before she or he even begins to read the explicit content of chapter 2.

Thus, for example, in the partial, circulation-value-forms Systematic-Dialectical model of the content of Marx's <<Das Kapital>>, volumes
I., II., & III., presented earlier in this thread --

To summarize my last two blog-entries, then, we have, in them, established the principle that dialectical categorial progressions -- those of
Systematic Dialectics and those of Historical Dialectics alike -- are "evolute-cumulative", and consist in a sub-structure which is constituted of two sub-progression components:

(
1) a "Tail" non-amalgamatively summing-up preceding evocations of "ideo-ontology" [in the sphere of Systematic Dialectics], or representing the continued present existence of previously-irrupted "physio-ontology", or "<<physis>>-ontology" [in the sphere of Historical Dialectics]; that past content which is also still [possibly] present, albeit in a somewhat-attenuated form, and;

(
2) a "singleton" category-symbol, representing the "Meristem", or "growing edge", of the [self-]progressing ontological "cumulum"; the most-recently-evoked/-irrupted "ideo-ontology", or "physio-ontology", for that stage, or epoch, of the categorial progression presentation / representation which is the focus of present attention.
