‘‘‘Stroboscopic’’’ Character of ‘Dyadic Dialectic-Function’ Models of Progressing Epochal ‘Ontology-States’, Using the _WQ Language. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dear Reader,

 

 

 

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

 

This 4th release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

 

 

 

Seldon –

 

“Each stage, step, or epoch of an _WQ-Language-expressed, dyadic-function dialectical categorial progression is ‘strobe-like’.” 

 

“You see the old category-symbol(s), those that are carried forward from the previous stage, step, or epoch, on into the latest stage, step, or epoch.”

 

“You also see the latest, newest category-symbol(s), just “born” in, and defining, that latest stage, step, or epoch, at (its)(their) peak of full emergence, but also just before (it)(they) can begin(s) to ‘interact (with itself)(among themselves)’, and also to interact with the earlier-present[ed] category-symbol(s).” 

 

“This signs a state, or ‘dynate’, of the actual units, or «monads», that are merely symbolized, implicitly, by these category-symbols, in which the newest units/- «monads» have just come into being, and have thus not yet had a chance to start to interact with the other, “older” kinds of units/«monads», or to start to interact among themselves.”

  

“Those “older” kinds of units/«monads» are represented, implicitly, by the category-symbol(s) that stand(s) for the units/«monads» that have been present since at least the previous stage, step or epoch.”

 

“That is, the view of the successive, progressing ontological states, or ‘ontological dynates’, of a given Domain that the _WQ Method provides is fleeting, or momentaneous [somewhat analogous to, e.g., the “evanescent quantities” of the “instantaneous” velocity interpretation of “first derivatives of position with respect to time” in the Newtonian/Leibnizian differential calculus], and ‘“stroboscopic”’.” 

 

“We see each successive “non-amalgamative sum”/‘‘‘qualitative superposition’’’/‘cumulum’ of category/quality symbols, each representing a qualitatively-distinct ‘ontology-state’ or ‘ontology dynate’ of the given Domain, as if just after it arises, by way of the self-interaction/self-multiplication/self-squaring of the immediately-previous ‘ontology-state’ representation, but also just before any self-interaction/self-multiplication/squaring of this new ‘ontology-state’ or ‘ontology-dynate’ representation has even begun.” 

 

“The _WQ Method ‘stroboscopically’ freezes each such “momentaneous”  moment, and holds it up in “still-life” before our gaze.”

 

“The epochal apparitions generated by a specifically historical-dialectical dyadic dialectic-function, as a function of discrete

time --

_Dt_u Î W º {0, 1, 2, 3, …}

-- for each consecutive value of _Dt_u, captures a consecutive state, or ‘dynate’, of the historical-dialectical Domain, or universe of discourse – represented as a ‘qualitative superposition’, or ‘cumulum’, of ontological categories, i.e., of ontological qualities – modeled/mapped by that dyadic dialectic-function-equation, such that its latest yield of new ontological categories/ontological qualities, is in statu nascendi; in the evanescent state of its first emergence; in the quickly-vanishing state of their being born.”

 

“This evanescent state, in cases describable using the _WQ -- “purely”-qualitative -- mathematical language for modeling/mapping dialectics, is not so much a state of “evanescent quantities”, as it is a state of “evanescent qualities”. …”
