The ‘Predictivity’ of Dialectic, Part 10: Seldon’s ‘‘‘Seeings’’’ Series.

The Predictivity of Dialectic, Part 10:  Seldon’s ‘‘‘Seeings’’’ Series --

The Ground of the Predictive Power of Dialectic.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an officer of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] Office of Public Liaison, to share with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

The tenth such release in this new series is entered below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

This 10th instalment addresses the root of the predictive power of dialectic.

Seldon:

...«monads» are the units, the individuals, the elements, the ‘‘‘holons’’’ [cf. Arthur Koestler] that we humans group, mentally, under various different kinds, based upon their ‘‘‘individual differences’’’ and their ‘individual similarities’, i.e., under/within various “kinds of being” -- or ‘‘‘ontological’’’ -- categories.”

“Such categories were the «arithmoi» of the ancients -- the ‘‘‘indefinite numbers’’’ [of «monads»] of the various “Kinds”, e.g., of Plato and the Pythagoreans, of Euclid, etc.”

“Their exact numbers -- the censuses of the «monads» of the various and growing kinds -- vary by locale, i.e., across space at any given universal [“Shape-Theoretic”] time, and through times as well, synchronically, and diachronically.”

“Because the world, after long experience, evinces a tendency to progress in a ‘«monad»-ic’-combinatoric -- ‘allo-combinatoric’ and ‘auto-combinatoric’ -- manner, i.e., is inductively populous with [i.e., with frequently encountered] instances of such ‘new-ontology-creation-by-monadic-combinatorics-among-the-«monads»-of-already extant/existing-ontology’, and because these ‘«monad»-ic’ combinatorics can be mirrored and summarized in the less-detailed form of ‘categorial combinatorics’ -- again, by both ‘allo-combinatorics’ and ‘auto-combinatorics’ -- the simple mathematics of categorial «aufheben» [self-]combinatorics, i.e., of dialectic, can provide ‘pre-mirrorings’ and premonitions of the likely next new, unprecedented kinds of being that will probably irrupt into the world in the future, arising via meta-finite singularities from within the densest concentrations of its earlier, already-extant kinds of «monads», by extrapolating the [self-]combinatoric patterns of the past that are encoded in the axioms of that mathematics of «aufheben» dialectic; projecting those patterns into the realm of the not-yet-experienced -- into the realm of the algorithmically-assisted imagination of future-experience.”

“These patterns of categorial [self-]combinatorics have been seen to hold regularly for both assemblages of [ideo-]physio-«monads»’ and assemblages of, pure, “mimetic”/‘memetic’-«monads» [ideo-«monads»’].
