UNIVERSAL SCIENCE.

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release by the F.E.D. General Council, Encyclopedia Dialectica insights into key concepts of Seldonian Theory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The statement posted below describes what we mean by the term ‘UNIVERSAL SCIENCE’.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seldon –

 

“ ‘Universal Science’ is, in our view, the term for the stage in the historical development of human knowledge\ideology-critique which overcomes, in particular, the tendency toward a radical diremption between the principles of “Natural Science” and those of “[Human-]Social Science”.”

 

“In this stage, a universal “law”, or recurrent pattern, of ‘onto-dynamical meta-evolutions’ is discerned, that applies throughout the “single science” [cf. Marx, Engels, The German Ideology] of the history of Nature; that applies equally to the ‘meta-evolution’ – the history – and the sciences of ‘‘‘pre-human Nature’’’, contemporary ‘‘‘exo-human Nature’’’, and to the history of ‘‘‘human Nature’’’.”

 

“In our view, that “law” is ‘the «aufheben» law’, ‘the dialectical law’, expressible as –

x¹ ® x²  =  x(x)  =  x + D(x)  º 

q_x¹ ® q_x²  =  q_x(q_x)  =  q_x + q_xx, with

q_xqualitatively, ontologically unequal to q_xx

– wherein x or q_x denotes an ontological

category, either a ‘self-hybrid’ such category, or an «arché»-category.”

 

“This pattern applies, in our view, whether x is applied to stand for either atoms, e.g., in primordial ‘atomic clouds’ in the process of turning themselves, ‘‘‘evolutely’’’, into [atomic-and-]“molecular clouds” --

of molecules.

 

-- or x is applied the expanded reproductions and, in Earth’s continental spaces, the rising concentrations of populations of “sociaL animaLs”, and of what we call ‘sociaL pLants’, that, starting with proto-humans and the woLves that became dogs under ‘‘‘mutual domestication’’’ with humans, became multi-sociaL-animaLs/multi-sociaL-pLants ‘Humans-convened meta-societies’, catalyzed by hominid sociaL animaLs, and with many other ‘‘‘mutual domestications’’’ of other “sociaL animaLs” and of “sociaL pLants”, and their incorporation into such ‘meta-societies’, to follow, in the Neolithic, and beyond –

“Such a unified, universal science thus sees a single ‘meta-genealogy’ for the entire known ontological content of our cosmos – a single sequence of ‘onto-dynamical’ ‘‘‘begettings’’’ for all of known Nature, for Nature as Ultimate Totality, stretching all the way from pre-nuclear particles [at least] to the ‘meta-evolutions’ of ‘Human meta-societies’, and, by predictive hypothesis, beyond, to the – emergent even already now – next ‘cosmo-ontology’, that of what we call ‘Meta-HumanitY’.”

 

“The principle of unified, universal science, locating a single, «aufheben» “law” of ‘meta-evolution’ and of ‘dialectical onto-dynamasis’ for all of known Nature, underpins the universality of the Dialectical Method itself.”
