It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an officer of the Foundation Encyclopedia
Dialectica [F.E.D.]
Office of Public Liaison, to share
with you, from
time to time, as
they
are approved
for public release by the F.E.D.
General Council, key
excerpts
from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder,
Karl Seldon.
The eighth
such release in this new
series is
entered below [Some E.D. standard
edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors
of the Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s
discourse].
This 8th instalment addresses the principle
publications of Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica, namely, the editions of the planned
multi-volume Encyclopedia
Dialectica itself.
Seldon:
“...Encyclopedia Dialectica is an ontological encyclopedia -- a data
dictionary, an information
dictionary, and a knowledge
dictionary -- for the universal
ontological categories that constitute our Universal
Taxonomy.”
“And, because
‘cosmo-ontology’, even when viewed in snapshot, freeze-frame, stroboscopic,
statical, momentaneous cross-section, is dialectical, in our sense of ‘vertical
dialectic’ and of ‘‘‘systematic
dialectic’’’, i.e., is «aufheben»-relational, and because, moreover, the
[dynamical] processes of ‘‘‘onto-gene-sis’’’ and of ‘onto-dynamasis’
are also dialectical, in our sense of ‘horizontal
dialectic’ and of ‘‘‘historical dialectic’’’, Encyclopedia Dialectica is also a dialectical encyclopedia.”
“Furthermore,
because Encyclopedia
Dialectica is cosmologically comprehensive, to present knowledge,
encompassing all of the known instances/appearances of dialectic, all known classes of ‘dialectical
phenomenation’, Encyclopedia Dialectica is also an
encyclopedia OF dialectics, a compendium of all of
the dialectical definitions
of all of the known kinds of dialectics
-- of all of the dialectical, or «aufheben», processes and relations -- that constitute our cosmos as presently known.”
“Finally,
because dialectical ontological
categories are also of qualitatively different “kinds”
-- standing for ‘‘‘«arithmoi»
of «monads»’’’ of definite kinds -- Encyclopedia Dialectica is also a ‘meta-Pythagorean’, and also therefore a
‘meta-Platonian’, and a ‘meta-Hegelian’ ‘Encyclopedia
of all [of the] «Arithmoi»’,
of all of the kinds of [indefinite]
‘‘‘Numbers’’’, or of all of the known‘Numbers
of kinds’, in somewhat of the Ancient sense of «Arithmos» [‘‘‘Number’’’], i.e., of ‘kind-Numbers’,
representing mental-image ensembles
of the actual, including physical, ‘‘‘eventities’’’, whose «Eide» are grasped as categories for/representing those
ontological units,
those «arithmoi» of units,
each unit of each «arithmos» being of a qualitatively,
ontologically different, specific kind, but related, dialectically and ‘meta-genelogically’,
to all other specific kinds.”
“We do not
plan for Encyclopedia
Dialectica to remain a mere text: we plan for it to become a ‘‘‘holodeck program’’’, an executable code
compendium of dialectical-ideographical ‘meta-models’, controlling the
depictions ‘‘‘inside’’’ which its users can “walk around”, and witness 3-D
dynamical-holographic projection-simulations of the ‘‘‘eventities’’’/phenomena
which this encyclopedia dialectically defines.”
