‘Perfection’’. - Part 5: Quoting Seldon Series.

‘‘Perfection’’.

-- Part 5: Quoting Seldon Series.

Dear Reader,

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release, by the F.E.D. General Council, key excerpts from the internal writings, and from the internal sayings, of our co-founder, Karl Seldon.

This fifth release of this new such series is posted below [Some E.D. standard edits have been applied, in the version presented below, by the editors of the F.E.D. Special Council for the Encyclopedia, to the direct transcript of our co-founder’s discourse].

In this 5th installment, Seldon discusses the concept, and the reality, of “perfection”.

Seldon –

Nothing is “perfect”.”

“By that assertion, I mean that no existent that I have ever experienced has ever been “perfect”.”

“I also mean that only “nothing” is “perfect”.”

“That is, only “nothing”, as the absolutely and the forever always indeterminate, if it existed – a paradoxical notion in itself – would not be subject to ‘‘‘determinate negations’’’, and would also already ever be the intended product of all ‘‘‘abstract negations’’’.

“Such ‘‘‘abstract negations’’’, turning their operands into “nothings”, could not alter an already “nothing”.  Turning such a “nothing”, were it to exist, into a “nothing” would change nothing not at all.”

“But each determinate existent that I have encountered has been, in my experience, “double-edged”.”

“Each has had advantages and disadvantages, from my point of view, and from the points of view of others.”

“Each has had upsides and downsides -- these ‘‘‘sides’’’ together presenting an intra-duality’, or intra-multiality’, so intertwined as to better be called a self-duality’, or a self-multiality’.

“Such ‘‘‘sides’’’ are ineluctable, interlocked, ‘intergenerate’, and ‘interdeterminate.
