Dialectic &/as the Overcoming of Impasses [Gk.:  «aporiai»] & of ‘‘‘radical dualisms’’’ [Gk.:  «diaporiai»].

...Perhaps the greatest benefit of the ‘«heuristic organon»’, or thought-tool, that is dialectics is its help in breaking out beyond impasses; in surpassing what the ancient Greek philosophers called «aporiai», including apparently insoluble, polarized ‘‘‘radical dualisms’’’ [«diaporiai»], both of whose poles are, as the French say,  «insupportable».  This ‘«heuristic organon»’ can also help us to see into our future(s) from our present(s), e.g., by pre-constructing and concretely imagining the resolution of a presently unresolved «aporia», and then by recurringly critiquing and thus honing that pre-construction.

Stephen Hawking on the Advent of ‘the Meta-Human’, I. -- ‘Human-Genomic Self-Re-Engineering’.

Stephen Hawking on the Advent of the Meta-Human, I. --

Human-Genomic Self-Re-Engineering.

Dear Reader,

We have predicted, as the neo-ontology of the next epoch of cosmological meta-evolution -- at least locally, in our solar system -- an ontologically-dynamical, neo-ontological meta-finite singularity that we call the irruption of the meta-human -- the advent of a new «genos» of three new «species» of cosmological ontology that we call meta-humanity --

Vqh  =  Vh  =  Vh1,  --->  Vh2  =  Vh + D Vh  =  Vh + Vqhh |-=

Vh  + Vy .

We hold that none of the three, dialectically-interrelated «species» of this new «genos» of meta-humanity that we have predicted is as yet extant in the contemporary Terran ecosphere of [mere] humanity.

We also hold that protoic preformations of each of these three «species» are already extant in our times, largely, though not completely, unnoticed as such by most of our contemporaries.

Given this background, it is interesting to read the thoughts of the late physicist, Stephen Hawking, on the systematically first of these three «species, that of ‘human-genomic self-re-engineering, mediated via the human phenome, in his posthumously published, 2018 book Brief Answers to the Big Questions [Bantam Books, NY].

[pp. 160-161]: “... now we are at the beginning of a new era in which we will be able to increase the complexity of our DNA without having to wait for the [F.E.D.:  relatively] slow process of biological evolution.”

“There has been relatively little change in human DNA in the last 10,000 years.  But it is likely that we will be able to redesign it completely in the next thousand.”

“Of course, many people will say that genetic engineering on humans should be banned.  But I rather doubt that they will be able to prevent it.  Genetic engineering on plants and animals will be allowed for economic reasons, and someone is bound to try it on humans.  Unless we have a totalitarian world order, someone will design improved humans somewhere.”

“Clearly, developing improved humans will create great social and political problems with respect to the unimproved humans.  I’m not advocating human genetic engineering as a good thing, I’m just saying that it is likely to happen in the next millennium, whether we want it or not.”

“This is why I don’t believe science fiction like Star Trek, where people are essentially the same 350 years in the future.”

“I think the human race, and its DNA, will increase its complexity quite rapidly.”

“In a way, the human race needs to improve its mental and physical qualities if it is to deal with the increasingly complex world around it and meet new challenges like space travel.”

“And it also needs to increase its complexity if biological systems are to keep ahead of electronic ones. ...”

The human PHENome «Aufheben»-Overcoming the human GENome.

... Terran human «species» history can be viewed, from one vantage, as a progression of re-iterated, continually-advancing, ever-deepening interventions of the human phenome into ‘‘‘the human genome’’’, beginning with simple learning itself, with the passing-on of that learning from generation to generation via ‘exo-somatic’, non-chromosomal, cultural means.  It even includes aberrant selective human [in-]breeding programs of certain ruling aristocracies, supposedly modeled on the selective breeding and ‘‘‘artificial selection’’’ of livestock and of other domesticated animals and plants. ... We predict that this progression will continue to the point of the self-transformation of Terran human «species» ontology into a META-human «species» ontology, via deliberate self-re-engineering of ‘‘‘the human genome’’’, as mediated by and through the human phenome, via its technologies.

The «Aufheben»-Conservation of Contradiction”’.

... ‘‘‘Conflicts’’’, dialectical ‘‘‘contradictions’’’, ‘intra-dualities and ‘intra-multi-alities are, typically, in our experience, not ‘‘‘convolutely’’’ erased, or ‘‘‘abstractly negated’’’/turned into ‘‘‘nothingnesses’’’ [cf. Hegel].

Such conflicts are, instead, typically only imperfectly & partially «aufheben»-contained, and ‘‘‘evolutely’’’ «aufheben»-conserved/-retained, within yet-larger-scale conflictual/self-conflictual ‘content-structures. ... .

The Dialectic of human Sexual Preferences REVISITED.

The Dialectic of human Sexual Preferences REVISITED.

Dear Readers,

We originally presented, in this blog, our narration of the systematic dialectic of human sexual preferences on May 22nd, 2014 --

The above led later to an extended dialogue with a reader, also posted as a blog-entry hereto --

-- dated July 17th, 2014.

That reader is a person of transgender orientation, having reluctantly lived as a male in adult life, until arranging a gender change operation, and thereafter living as a female.

Based upon a too-limited, unrepresentative sample of a mere handful of people of transgender orientation that the members of the Foundation had observed, up to the time of this dialogue, we had concluded that transgender orientation was an entirely heterosexual phenomenon, with no traces of either homosexual or bisexual orientation exhibited in it.  We had, based upon that limited experience, hypothesized only two Sub-Species of the transgender Species of human sexual orientation ‘psych-ontology’ --

Sub-Species 1.  Persons with female genitalia objectively, but subjectively identified with the male gender, and sexually attracted to females.

Sub-Species 2.  Persons with male genitalia objectively, but subjectively identified with the female gender, and sexually attracted to males.

However, the reader with whom we dialogued about this Domain of Human Sexual Orientations explained to us that she was both of the transgender orientation, and bisexual -- sexually attracted to both males and females.

Confronted with this evidence, and with this empirical falsification of our original hypothesis about the transgender sexual orientations category, we revised our hypothesis.

Our current hypothesis is that the category of transgender sexual orientations is a microcosm of the preceding three categories in our systematic-dialectical order of presentation -- namely, the categories of heterosexual orientations, homosexual orientations, and bisexual orientations.

That is, we now expect that the transgender sexual orientations Species-category has three Sub-Species categories -- representing transgender analogs of heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality.

The estimated fraction of the human population that is of the transgender Species-category of sexual orientations was estimated, in 2011, to be ~ 0.3%.

However, from the qualitative, ontological point-of-view native to the N_Q_ dialectical ideography, and to many of its dialectical progeny in the dialectical progression of the Seldonian ‘Dialectical Ideographies’, it does not matter that some of these Sub-Species categories may represent tiny percentages of the present human population, situated deep into the tails of the frequency-distribution of sexual preference types.  These categories, however rare, represent qualitatively distinct human sexual orientations ontology, ontologically distinct phenomena of human sexuality.

We have amended the ‘dialectograms’ regarding the Domain of Human Sexual Orientations
according to our new hypothesis.  We have posted all of those amended JPEG images both here, and also in the original blog-entries cited above.  The 'dialectogram' posted above is the one principally affected by this revision.
