‘Dialectic &/as the Overcoming
of Impasses [Gk.: «aporiai»] &
of ‘‘‘radical dualisms’’’
[Gk.: «diaporiai»]’.
“...Perhaps
the greatest
benefit
of the ‘«heuristic
organon»’, or ‘thought-tool’, that is dialectics is its help in breaking
out beyond impasses;
in surpassing
what the ancient
Greek philosophers
called «aporiai», including apparently insoluble, polarized ‘‘‘radical dualisms’’’
[«diaporiai»], both of whose poles are, as the French say, «insupportable». This
‘«heuristic
organon»’ can also help us to see into our future(s) from our present(s), e.g., by ‘pre-constructing’
and concretely imagining
the
resolution
of a presently unresolved
«aporia», and then by recurringly critiquing
and thus honing that ‘pre-construction’.”
