Dear Reader,

The process of the «physis» – physical – dialectical partial synthesis that created the first eu-karyotic photosynthesizing single cells, the first eukaryotic plant cells, ultimately containing chloroplast organelles to conduct that process of photosynthesis inside them, was an «allo-aufheben», hybridizing dialectic-of-Nature process, by which units of two qualitatively, ontologically distinct ontological categories combined into a complex unity of “endosymbiosis”, via rare, “symbiogenesis” events.

The initial formation of eukaryotic cells from prokaryotic cells, on the contrary, was a process of «auto-aufheben» ‘self-meta-unit-ization’ on the part of eukaryotic cells’ pro-karyotic predecessors.

Predatory prokaryotic cell units engulfed and “ingested” other prokaryotic cell units, that had developed the capability to use atmospheric Oxygen to conduct respirative metabolism, so much more productive of ATP-molecule biological energy than the earlier, fermentative mode of metabolism.

But in some, rare, cases of cellular predation, the engulfings of the respirating prokaryotes by the predatory prokaryotes were event of ‘ingestion without digestion’.  The respirative prokaryotes survived inside the ingesting prokaryotes, and eventually developed into the “mitochondria” organelles that typically conduct respirative bio-energy metabolism in eukaryotic cells today. These mitochondrial organelles still maintain their own, vestigial DNA, to this very day.  This happened long, long before any eukaryotic plant cells existed.

Much later, some fully-fledged eukaryotic cells – nucleated, ‘mitochondriated’, and containing a complex internal membrane network, and a complex, dynamic endo-cytoskeleton – thereby engulfed some still-prokaryotic, photosynthesizing cyano-bacteria, again, in events of ‘ingestion without digestion’.

Over a period of perhaps a billion years, some of these internalized photosynthesizing prokaryotes stabilized inside their engulfing eukaryotes, exchanged genes with the engulfers’ cell nuclei, maturing into the photosynthesizing “chloroplasts” organelles that eukaryotic plant cells feature today.

The overall ‘dialectic of Nature’ model of this process, via the triadic Seldon function of the prokaryotic units’ relative «arché»-category, qp, is –

qp31  |-=   qp <+> qpp <+> qpe

|-=  p <+> e <+> qep.

The model’s component-process, leading to the eukaryotic units/prokaryotic units plant cell combination/complex unity/dialectical partial «physis»-synthesis, or ‘synphysis’, is –

qe <´> qp  =   qp <+> qep.
