GLOBAL STRATEGIC HYPOTHESES.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dear Reader,

 

 

 

It is my pleasure, and my honor, as an elected member of the Foundation Encyclopedia Dialectica [F.E.D.] General Council, and as a voting member of F.E.D., to share, with you, from time to time, as they are approved for public release by the F.E.D. General Council, Encyclopedia Dialectica, key themes of Seldonian Theory.

Seldon’s Slogans, #2 --

“Intra-Duality is the Cause of Dialectic.”

 

M.D.: My view on this slogan is as follows.  I see it as exemplified in Seldon’s account of ‘the [historical] dialectic of stellar meta-evolution’.

 

A “main sequence” star is a complex unity of a colossal thermo-nuclear self-explosion, issuing from its Hydrogen core – i.e., from its H+, protonic plasma core – opposing a colossal self-gravitational self-implosion, at every “point” or finite micro-locus within the body of the star, that lasts for billions of years, its duration of stellar existence depending especially upon its initial mass.

 

Such a star manifestly begins in a process of a, predominantly Hydrogen-containing “molecular cloud”, self-gravitationally self-contracting and self-densifying.

 

With star formation, self-gravitational self-implosion precedes, in time, the ignition of its, answering, and opposing, core thermonuclear self-explosion.

 

The ‘thesis-movement’ of self-gravitational self-contraction both pre-dates and also eventually induces the ‘antithesis-movement’ of core thermonuclear self-expansion.

 

The implosion-answering self-explosion can begin only once the self-implosion-induced core density is adequate to thermally overcome the electro-repulsion of enough core proton units, ‘proximating’ them sufficiently, and merely momentaneously, often enough that, and in enough cases, that their “strong nuclear force” mutual attraction, stronger over sufficiently-minute inter-proton distances than their electro-repulsion, prevails over their mutual electro-anti-attraction, to create “di-proton” units, as the starting point of the fusion of Hydrogen nuclei into Helium nuclei.

 

These ‘microcosmic’ processes determine the macrocosmic dynamics and the macrocosmic phenomenology of “main sequence” stars.

 

However, even if the thermonuclear self-expansion ‘antithesis-movement’ is ‘secondary in time’ – in time-of-first-manifestation – to the ‘thesis-movement’ of self-gravitational self-contraction and self-densification, both of these movements are predestined, as «potentia» of the natural formations that we call stars, each equally as implicit in stellar existence as the other.

 

To be more precise, it is the ‘intra-duality’ of the star, in the form of the unity of the opposites ‘self-contraction/self-expansion’, that is immanent and predestined in the “main sequence” stellar form/content, from the stage of molecular cloud, to that of “proplyd” [proto-planetary disk], and to the stages beyond.

 

It is thus this predestined ‘intra-duality’, this co-immanence of the opposite movements, the movements of contraction and/versus expansion, that gives rise to the dialectic of the ‘meta-evolution’ of stellar formations.

 

At the end of the existence of such a star, these two movements combine but also separate – that is, they combine separately – the stellar core contracting into, e.g., a white dwarf remnant, a neutronium remnant, or even ‘holonium remnant’, a “black hole”, while the outer shells concurrently expand/explode and are expelled into the thus atomic-species-richening interstellar, intra-galactic medium – in which and from which stellar self-reproduction and, eventually, also planetary self-reproduction, the precipitation of new stars and, eventually, of new stellar/planetary systems from sufficiently-dense self-localizations of the interstellar medium, ensues.

 

This final, concurrent combination of self-contraction and self-expansion, is the ‘synthesis-movement’ of stellar ‘meta-evolution’ – the ‘‘‘complex unity’’’ of stellar-core self-contraction and/with stellar outer-layers self-expansion and self-expulsion.
